Privacy policy

Effective November 3, 2026

The short version

We don’t collect your data. There’s no account and no sign-up. Your photos, videos and files are encrypted on your iPhone before they’re saved, and we can’t see them. Silock has no servers of its own, no ads and no tracking. Apple handles purchases, and we never see your payment details.

Who we are

Silock is made by the Silock Team (“we” and “us” on this page). If you have a question about this policy, email support@silock.app.

What stays on your iPhone

Everything you put in Silock stays on your iPhone, encrypted. That includes your photos, videos, documents, file names, silo names and the settings for each silo. None of it is sent to us.

Your password, PIN or pattern is never stored or sent anywhere. Silock uses it on your iPhone to unlock your encryption keys and then forgets it. Your recovery phrase is shown only to you, when you set it up. We don’t keep a copy, so we can’t recover your files or reset your password for you.

What Silock asks permission for

iOS asks for your permission before Silock can use any of these, and each one is used only on your iPhone.

  • Photos: to add the photos and videos you choose, to save a copy back to Photos when you ask, and, only if you say yes, to delete the originals you’ve just added.
  • Camera: to take photos straight into a silo. They go into the silo encrypted and are never saved to your photo library.
  • Face ID: to open Silock if you turn it on. iOS checks your face itself. Silock never receives any face data.
  • Files: to add documents you choose, and to save a copy out when you ask.

iCloud backup

If you turn on iCloud backup, Silock encrypts everything on your iPhone first, then stores it in your own iCloud account. Apple keeps the encrypted copy but can’t read it, and we never have access to it. You can turn backup off and delete the backup in Silock’s Settings at any time.

Purchases

Silock Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles payment and keeps the record of your purchase. We don’t receive your name, email or payment details. Apple gives us sales reports that don’t identify you.

Crash and performance reports

These are off unless you choose to share them. If you share app analytics with developers in your iPhone’s settings (Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Analytics & Improvements), Apple may send us anonymous crash and performance reports. They never include your files, file names or anything inside your silos. Silock contains no analytics or advertising code of its own or from anyone else.

This website

silock.app uses no cookies, no analytics scripts and nothing loaded from other companies. Our host, Cloudflare, receives your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, and gives us overall visit counts (such as pages viewed and countries) that don’t identify anyone.

If you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply to you. Ask us and we’ll delete your messages.

Sharing and selling

We don’t sell or share personal information. We don’t have any to sell or share.

Your choices and rights

Because we don’t hold your data, there’s nothing for us to hand over, correct or delete. You stay in control on your iPhone:

  • Deleting a silo, or deleting the app, removes that data from your iPhone.
  • You can turn iCloud backup off and delete the backup from iCloud.
  • You can change any permission above in your iPhone’s Settings, under Silock.

Everyone gets the same control, wherever they live.

Children

Silock isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone, at any age.

Changes to this policy

If what Silock does with information changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the app. A change that means collecting information would also be explained in the app before it happens.
